"i just purchased a 1986 Larson Citation, open bow and it originaly had a mercruiser 140hp in it and the previous owner swapped it for a 180hp mercruiser. he also gave me that motor. with the current 180hp motor it really flies, but its really loud. i know the the old dog house doesen't fit but it sounded like it was comming out of the back of the boat. after inspection i found the exhaust bellow dry rotted and falling apart. My question is where is a good place to get one and how hard is it to remove and replace???? Plz help
"

Also should i sell the 140hp m

Also should i sell the 140hp motor or keep it for a spare. the 180 hp runns great. not sure about 140. previous owner says he replaced it cause he got the 180 hp motor out of wrecked boat for really cheap

"keep it if you have a place f

"keep it if you have a place for it.

If it has rotted exhaust bellows, i would take a close look at the drive bellows and replace as well.

exhaust bellows is optional but should be in place. Very common part. you will need the part, clamps, and adhesive. The install tool will make your life much better as it can be a tight fit.

you'll want to pay attention to cleaning the mating surfaces and using adhesive (critical on drive bellows)

Also a good time to replace zinks (use the right metal for the water you are in), change drive oil and grease all the fittings."

i know this is going to make m

i know this is going to make me sound bad what are the Zinks? sorry for the dumb ? but I'm a noob to the I/O world

Zincs are the sacrificial anno

Zincs are the sacrificial annodes on the OD. They are the two acorn nuts at the bottom of the OD with a rectangular shaped one between them that the trim hoses run thru. The other one is the trim tab.

Change the shift cable bellows and the cooling water hose while you are at it.
