I have a 2003 sea-ray 240 with the 5.o Mercruiser. I recently was out on a lake . I was anchored near a sand bar and when leaving and heading back to the marina I experienced an exhaust back up( heavy exhaust smell ) which caused limited power when throttling to get up on plane. after about 5 minutes exhaust dissipated and boat seemed to run fine. Any ideas on what may have happened ? And what can I do to prevent this in the future ???? I trailer my boat and have not put it back in to the water as I don't know what may have caused this and /or what to do about it. Any Ideas ??????
