This old gal uses oil at a rate of 15 gal fuel to 1 gal of oil and smokes so heavy you can't see through the cloud.
Old smokey is the starboard half of the twins pushing my 252 grady. My first thought was a fuel line sucking air or a restriction. I ran new fuel line from the starboard engine to the port fuel tank pick up, by-passing the primer pump, fuel managment and filter. Since The port engine had no issues I could assume it's fuel supply was good. The engine started right up and continued to smoke. After a good 5 minutes at idle (more than enough time to clear the carb) it was still laying out a cloud so thick the neighbors thought it was on fire.
Next step? VRO pump? rebuild or replace?
