Exaust tube leak

Greetings,
1969 Merc 160 - Runs like a champ... Had it out Saturday and all specs (temp/oil pressure) stayed in normal, comfortable range.

After I got it trailered, I found the bilge had an excessive amount of water in it... Not sure if the float switch kicked in while I was out on the water or not... I never saw/heard it, but it's possible it could have while I was busy at the helm.

Back home, I hooked up the muffs and found a metal coupler between the engine and drive exhaust elbows rubber bellows was rusted and leaking (see pics). Looking up my engine/drive info, that looks like it's SUPPOSED to be this part: http://www.marineengine.com/newparts/part_details.php?pnum=MER45597A+1&ptype=&Engine=&Model= but I'm not seeing where what I have resembles it at all... Could it be that someone, somewhere in it's history just jury-rigged the bellows system that's on there? Or was that how they looked originally before they came out selling part# 45597A?

Without being able to actually hold the part in my hand, I'm looking at the pic and wondering if it will even fit the span between my elbows?

Can anyone shed some light?
