"i just bought what i was told was a 15hp evinrude. it has the tiller style handle of a 91 or newer evinrude. the model # and serial # were painted over. so i scraped the paint off along with the numbers. great. is there any other way to find out what year and hp the motor is? the freeze plug reads g3179309?? anyting?? other numbers on inside motor are 322404 p/n for ex- cover, outer. 323657- p/n for shift lever, and 336637- p/n for cover bypass. can we figure out what year and hp from any of this? or where is ther model number at that im not seeing??? thanks a lot, Mike"
