Hello, so I just purchased my first ever boat (a 1992 BassTracker TX17 Tournament w/ Evinrude Triumph 60HP) a couple of days when I bought the boat. I was told that it was idling good but it sometimes sputtered and spit when given throttle so the first thing I did was pull all 3 carbs and clean the jets. The boat didn’t come woth a battery so I had to go out and buy one. When I installed the battery and began to hook up the negative terminal the motor started buzzing and the buzzing would stop when I pressed the up button on the trim switch and held it on both the motor and the throttle. I replaced the relays and took off the rubber boots in the switches and am still having the same problem. I don’t want to take it to a mechanic just yet and I want to try to learn and fix it myself.
