Evinrude sportwin

A 1963 a wonderful easy to maintain motor.-----Lower units can be a problem on these.----Bushing above the pinion can be worn out.----Do a complete evaluation before spending money on it.

1961-63 have the best powerheads. Pre-61 powerheads would beat the wrist pins to death with a lot of hours' running. But they can be updated with a bunch of parts.

Agreed with the above.----Those 61-63 model 10 HP motors use the same wrist pin bearing as the 125 HP V-4 in the late 60's early 70's .----Wonderful stuff.

Yes one of my all-time fishing favorites. Lower units were a problem, stemming from poor maintenance. That bushing would dry out from a seal leak, usually at the prop shaft from fishing line. I have here a 1963, last of the 10's....mint mint. Then introduction of the 9.5 hp "Stubby". Not near the power, but great fisherman favorite for almost 10 years of production.
