"2000 Evinrude 15 hp 4-stroke.

"2000 Evinrude 15 hp 4-stroke. Impeller just replaced, hoses cleared. Pee stream at idle very low and at high rpms an arch. Mechanic states this is normal for this engine. How strong a pee stream is normal with a new impeller on this outboard? If weaker than should be, what else to look for as a cause? Thanks."
 
Thermostat. Cheap to replace a

Thermostat. Cheap to replace and easy to remove and check. Just pull it out tie a string to it and a thermometer and stick them in a pan on the stove. Don't let either touch the side or the bottom of the pan and bring water to a boil. If the thermostat doesn't move before you get to 140 degrees toss it away and getcha a new one

"Thanks, but I did not think the thermostat affected the volume/force of the outside pee stream. I asked the mechanic about changing the thermostat when I had them replace the impeller and they indicated that it is rarely necessary."
 
I got the same problem with my

I got the same problem with my 25hp Johnson but i'm having no pee stream. They told me to check the thermo. so who knows. LOL

"ur block,fills up,before the thermo,..so thermo,is not a 'pee stream' problem,may be new wtr pump time,also ck the fittings on ea end,and the hose,for obstructions."

no water coming out the pee hole.johnson 120 vro. work good last summer . hook up hose to water nonthing comes out the top

"I have a 1953 10hp johnson outboard, I have to keep squeezing the fuel line bulb to keep it running. Is this normal, one mechicanic recomend adding a small volume electric fuel pump, any thoughts."
