Evinrude Outboard

Hi, I just purchased a boat with a 115 Evinrude outboard on it. Have had mixed responses on the reliability of it and was wondering if anyone could give me their opinion. It is a 1999, 115hp FICHT model E115FPXEEN and the serial number is too faded to read. Any info would be greatly appreciated.Thanks

The "EE" within that model number indicates that your engine is indeed a 1999 model, however I am not familiar with the "Ficht" design. I'm sure that other members will be along shortly with informative comments.

Many of those motors have suffered failures.-----------Many dealers refuse to work on them.-----------When I am offered one cheap to rebuild i say " no thanks "----------------Check on -------------shop.evinrude.com --------------For parts availability and prices.------------------If the motor runs great now , you need to find a dealer / shop that will help you.
