Give us a model number here so

Give us a model number here so we can see what we are working on. Did you check you tank pick up tube to see if it was stopped up or pull the line loose at the pump to see if fuel was comming out there.

One piece of advice I will offer here is if you ever want to keep that old motor running after you get it to run you had better quit useing that starting fluid. Its washing what little oil if any off the internal works and will trash them out. Make you up some pre mix and put it in a squirt bottle and spray it that way.

"Thank you for the imformation

"Thank you for the imformation you gave me, Ok here is the serial number 18002E-E05224 hopefully that will help. Ok I used a premix today I can get it running but it will not start on its own. I put a new tank, new hose, filter. The only way it will start is if I shoot some premix into the carb. One other question, it smokes quiet abit is this normal? Any ways I need all the help I can get. IM PUZZLED"

Have you checked compression o

Have you checked compression on your cylinders and for a good strong spark? What about your fuel pump?

"Hello, yes it has a strong sp

"Hello, yes it has a strong spark and compression. ? where is the fuel pump located didn't know it had one."

Trace the fuel line from where

Trace the fuel line from where you hook it to the tank back to the motor and the fuel pump should be right there. Should be on the right side mounted on the side of the motor. Will be three lines. 1 to carb 1 to outside connector 1 is the pulse line where it gets its vacummn to operate.

Also Guys can you tell me what

Also Guys can you tell me what year this motor is by the serial number. Once again

Thanks!

"Steve, based on your model number you motor was built as a 1970 model..."

We must not be talking about t

We must not be talking about the same motor. My line comes from the tank to "plug in" then goes under motor to a Black square block with two hoses on it in which one is the line feed from plug in and the other goes to the carb. Inside this square block is a filter.

"Hey guys, my bad I guess wher

"Hey guys, my bad I guess where the fuel filter at is where the fuel pump is. Doe's this really pump or just a flow threw. Or is it some thing that is blocked.

Steve"

"Steve, behind that "filte

"Steve, behind that "filter" (screen) is the diaphram which is a vaccum operated pump. A "push/pull" action from the motor causes it to "suck" gas from the fuel tank and then "push" it to the carb..."

Steve don't take this the

Steve don't take this the wrong way but right about now a good manuel would be a great addition to you tool chest on this engine.
