Is there a way to test oil ta

Is there a way to test oil tank unit. 1985 Evinrude 120hp. seems to be getting oil (engine smokes) except the horn sounds constantly. Only stops if I disconect wire from oil tank to engine. Thanks for any advice. Chris

" Chris.... I've encountered that problem only one time. The cure (for me) was to install another oil tank sending unit (in the oil tank). There may be another cure, and if so, hopefully someone here will jump in with it.

With the same one motore(BE120TLCUR - Evinrude 120hp 1987) I have had the same warnings!

A beautiful day igniting the motor from cold, has been ignited and in least seconds it at the same time has turned to three pistons the sonorous spy and it has been extinguished, ...more it has not been ignited.

A connecting rod has been broken off and it has broken the Crankcase under the cylinders, the near Reed Box Assy and the piston has been ovaled.

The cylinder has not endured damages and the Crankshaft assy not even.

Now I AM TRYING the Crankcase(Only that one under) for being able to repair it. From the Evinrude they do not sell the separated piece, sell all the entire block: ref. 1 - Pz. Nº 398480 (CYLINDER & CRANKCASE - Cylinder There Assy houses) :-((

Task is better to cancel the VRO and to directly feed with benzine and oil already stirs to you.
