Evinrude No Start

I have a 1983 Evinrude 70 HP. It has worked great for many years. This year, I started having problems. I went through normal procedures to start but the engine turned over but did not start. I removed the top and middle plugs and inserted a little gas. The engine fired right up and I had no problems all day. It seems to be good for a couple of days. Then, I have t do it again. I removed the gas line going from the fuel pump to the carbs and pressed the bulb. Lots of gas. I could use some help.

Thanks. I'll look at it

It just dawned on me.... the 1983 model used a Fuel Primer Solenoid, not a electric choke solenoid. In which case, it sounds like the Fuel Primer Solenoid has failed OR is not getting voltage to it when you push the key in to engage it.

Check to see that voltage is at the fuel solenoid terminal when you push the key in. Also remove one of the small hoses leading from that solenoid to the carbs or the intake manifold (whichever)... with the fuel bulb pumped up hard, fuel should shoot out of that small hose when you push the key in.
