Evinrude no oil warning light and siren

I have a yr 2000 evinrude 200

I have a yr 2000 evinrude 200hp engine. While returning to my dock the no oil light and siren came on twice and both times shut themselves off after 30 secs or so. I had plenty of oil in my reservoir. What could be going on? Should I wait for my mechanic to come out before attempting to use the boat again? Thanks.
