just bought a boat and hooked up muffs to check engine and the only place water is coming out of motor is the pee hole, where else should it come out.... And also is there a way to check the overheating alarm
 
Find the tan wire on the cylinderhead.------Slide the rubber boot back.-------Turn key to " on " and touch the exposed part of the wire to the block.------Horn should sound.
 
thanks ill try that today.... And as far as the water coming out other than the pee hole . Where else should it come out
 
If you do not know how old the impeller is then you should install a new one.-------One of the biggest mistakes made by folks buying a used motor / boat is to say " it runs so lets go and have fun"-------------You need to to the simple maintenance first.---Change lower unit oil ( proper oil for electric shift ) on your motor.---Install a new impeller.-----If motor has sat for a long time then the carburetors must be confirmed to be clean with no restrictions or blockage.
