I have a 1961 Johnson 18hp and have a dilemma. I'm trying to connect the throttle and shift control cables from a Evinrude controller but cannot mount the cables to the Johnson due to the mounts that secure the cables did not come with the Johnson. The cables will connect to the motor with no problem, however the cables/control will not work without the cable mounts that are supposed to be on the motor. There are places on the motor that would indicate a mount may go there, but I don't know where to look to get the mounts I need? Any ideas?
