Dear,

I just bought an Evinrude 120 cv, 88KW, V4 outboard. The boat i bought is from 1980.

I don't know from which year is the motor. the serie number is G1738855, i have an other number on one of the papers: BE120TLCCA

I need to replace the waterpump but i don't know which one i need to buy.

How should i proceed?

BE120TLCCA is your model number and is all you need to search for parts. I used it on this site but got an error because it didn't recognize the B. I think B just means it was made for sale in Belgium and if you remove that the search function works well.

As Racerone said, your engine is a 1988. The last letter in the model number doesn't matter. The 2 letters prior to that indicate the 2 digit year of the model. The word INTRODUCES is used to translate letters to numbers: 1, 2, 3.....0 where I=1 and S=0. For your outboard, the 'CC' is your model year and C is 8th letter in the word. 'CC' equals 88.

The water pump kit you need is either Evinrude Part # 5001594 http://www.marineengine.com/newparts/part_details.php?pnum=OMC5001594
Or Sierra Part # 18-3392 http://www.marineengine.com/newparts/part_details.php?pnum=SIE18-3392
