One of the springs that goes i

One of the springs that goes in the fuel pump went flying when I was putting the fuel pump back together. I guess it would be the shorter of the two closer to the top of the fuel pump. Are there any springs that will go in there to replace the original or are these springs pressured to work with these pumps. And will this cause the fuel pump to not pump gas without squeezing the primer bulb. Thanks for any help that can be given.

Now the pump is driven by crankcase pulses and have you checked that.How did this fail ?? what were the symptoms ( sudden failure ) or gradual lack of pumping.They are also considered cheap as in inexpensive and most just install a new one."

"It actually had a quarter inch tear in the diaphragm so I was trying to rebuild it, just went and got a new fuel pump today and it works fine now...Thanks"
