i have 1993 140 hp evenrude ou

i have 1993 140 hp evenrude outboard motors. the fast trac system is causing problems. is it possable to rebuild these systems at home. where can i get some parts?

"it is poss..what kind of prob......u would need a factory service manual,and obtain a spanner wrnech for the end caps.u may be able to obtain the parts off this site,..altho,they are dealer specific,sierra does make 'some' of the parts."

"Thanks jwb fluid does not last a season, curently the engine is in the travel position and I cannot get it to lift or travel up, I can hear air in the system so i keep adding fluid. I think the tank is about full. I am assuming I need new seals at the minimum. Is there a ring around the cylinder? Is there any kind of control valve or is it just the motor that directs the fluid. The cases on the motor have a lot of rust on the can. My original thought was to replace the motor before salt water leaks in."

does not appear to be any majo

does not appear to be any major leaks that i can find. the seal on the top does appear to pass a drop or two on occasion. the fluid is milky and im sure its mixed with air. should the fluid container be under pressure??. Can thses units be remnoved while on the boat????

should there be pressure in the flid reserve tank?

"I have a manual it covers the external components of the Tilt system. I looked at the descriptor for the online manuals here the seem to cover the external components as well.there is testing procedures in the book but nothing on a rebuild. do they sell a kit with orings for a rebuild. currently i have most of the old disconnected, all i need is a bigger hammer and punch to free up the lower pin. when i do get it out i will eplace the tilt motor."
 
does anyone have any sugestion

does anyone have any sugestions on how to remove the lower pin in the fast trac system. removed the snaprings no problem but everything I have tried to remove the pin has failed. from what I can see this pin is the only thing holding the system to the mounting. top pin came out ok. any suggestions???????????
