Hi guys, New to this forum but regular on many others (mostly car forums). I have done a fairly extensive search but am stumped so i figured maybe someone on here could give me some advice.
I have an Evinrude e90 dplscb etec motor on my pontoon. 2 weeks ago I put it int he water for the first time of the year. I will be 100% honest I did not winterize the boat, as we usually don't get brutal winters here in North Carolina. I stopped and put fresh gas in the tank, some seafoam, and it had a new fuel filter. Also, I just replaced the ignition on the boat. I put her in the water and she fired right up. Left it at idle for roughly 10 minutes while I set the top up and got ready to head to the marina I am going to keep the boat at. I got about 500 yards from the dock and it cut off. Brought it back home and started checking everything over. I noticed the fuel filter was leaking slightly so I put the old one back on. I have fully charged the battery, but it will not crank at all. The main fuse is fine, as well as all other fuses under the console. I removed the starter checked it off the boat. With power directly to it, it spins and lifts as normal, and is functional. The EMM shows a single LED on the bottom LED when I put the key in the on position. The small inline fuel filter on the engine is dry....bone dry so clearly, we aren't getting fuel. I don't know enough about boat engines to really know where to move next. Should the EMM not prime the engine for startup prior to cranking? Any help or suggestions anyone can give would be great. Thanks in advance!
Larry
