Evinrude e15rlcud fuel pump rebuild

Working on gpa's evinrude 15, he had several used fuel pumps stashed in the boat. I ordered a couple of rebuild kits, but am wondering how many hours of use I can expect out of a rebuild? What exactly causes the problems? TIA

Well----There is not much that can go wrong with them-------About the only thing that can go wrong is a ruptured diaphragm.-------These pumps are driven by crankcase PRESSURE pulses.-----Many are replaced as a last gasp guess.----Real trouble shooting has become a lost art in my opinion !
