Looking for suggestions for a problem that cam up over the weekend, I have 06 e-tech installed winter before last and only had on the water a couple of times last year. This past weekend I had it on the water for the first time this season and encountered a problem I have not had previously. When I shift into reverse the engine will not go above an idle. The boat moves in reverse but no throttle response. After I got home I was looking at the controller and noticed that it was in neutral and would shift into reverse but would not go into forward. I have had the controller apart several times trying to solve the issue but no results. It seems as though when I put the controller in reverse it will not engage the throttle for more power. Forward was working fine, looking for suggestions as to how to fix this issue or what to look for. The controller is the original from an 85 Evinrude that I was told was compatible with the current outboard installed.
