Evinrude 9.9 4-stroke

last year I bought a 2000 Evinrude 9.9 4-stroke outboard.
the motor came with a OMC remote control.
is there a manual on how this control works
I have never ran a boat with a remote control
is there anywhere that I would find a model #

The model # should be on one of the stern brackets.
