Evinrude 70HP warning Horn issues

Hi

I have a problem with my 70HP Evinrude (late 80) which I cannot for the life of me figure out…

The problem being, when I turn the key the alarm horn start blaring, after some searching I now know that this is the overheat alarm or I some cases I believe e fuel restriction. But since it’s not even running im guessing the first.
The problem started when we were out on the water doing a couple speed runs, which we do often. And the all the sudden smoke came out the OMC controller and the horn (later appeared) melted.
After weeks of looking up parts etc we found a 2nd new OMC controller with the horn since it costs +€100 when I order the 3 wired horn.
I later figured out that I could also replace it with a cheaper 2 cabled one from amazon.

After fitting the new horn it kept on blaring, so we tried the other controller with different contacts because we didn’t receive the original key… (tried 2, one from the controller we had with the molten horn and 1 correctly wired from an Yamaha I believe) none of which managed to shut up the horn…

Now I think it must be some electrical issue, but that’s the one thing I’ve never been quite good at.
But I want gonna let that stop me, after fiddling with basically every wire it still kept blaring, even after disconnecting the ENTIRE harness except the battery cable, which when I disconnect it it of course shuts up.

Recently I also tried measuring the oHms but since they all had resistance I believe they are ok.
Then I tried disconnecting all the sensors 1 at a time to see if the horn would stop, which it didn’t or else I wouldn’t be writing this post lol.

Yesterday I have also removed the temp sensor from the head to see its state, nothing wrong with it and didn’t stop the horn from blaring. (Though it might be grounding something)
After this I tried to push the brown cable out of the big red plug to see what would happen (getting desperate) after accidentally breaking the little connector of the cable the horn still kept on blaring… which in my mind is weird because I just removed the entire engine side harness of the horn….

I have seen online some cases of a bad ground underneath the flywheel but before removing that and (idk) messing with the timing I think it would be smart to just measure that with a multimeter.

Now the question is, even though it would be really difficult of course, what might the problem might be? And can one of the anodes have something to do with it? (Outboards are kinda new for me, always have been cars bikes scooters etc)
Im also thinking of trying the 2 wire horn but I don’t see how that would work since it would still be receiving power from somewhere. This also because I have read on multiple forums to disconnect 1 of the 2 wires on the horn to see what would happen but that trick didn’t help either.
So my last guess would be to replace the wire harness since idk maybe the wires in the big red plug on the engine side are bad (even though of course they measured resistance I believe, and won’t know which one to order since I can’t figure out what make year and model the engine is)

I hope I made the case as clear as possible which is kinda hard because I now have been trying for months and English isn’t my first language :)
Also attached some pictures below in case they might be handy

Anodes have nothing to do with the warning horns.----Check the wiring cable from the box to the motor.----Could be a short if wires are melted.----The smoke may indicate an issue there.----I doubt you will find anything under the flywheel.----And removing the flywheel will not give you issues with timing either.

ah thanks! I have tried an other box harness as well, the one going all the way to the motor (came with the controller) but didn't seem to work...
but will try again
