Engine cover busted all up, does this cover need vents or can I fiberglass the whole thing?

A friend just bought one with a similar situation. A seasoned fiberglass repair spe******t told him fiberglass won't stick to these hoods. The type of plastic used in the molding process won't hold polyester or epoxy resin, at least not in the long term. Your best bet is to find a good used one. If it's the wrong color just search the parts pages here for the correct paint and sticker set.
