evinrude 50473M ignition swap

heya all , new to this forum have a question
i have a 1974 50hp evinrude has good compression etc , except i have no spark , i have a 1978 50hp evinrude as a spare parts motor , except the ignition setup is different ( cdi etc ) i know they are good , the stator , power pack coils etc all in good wokring condition and have tested them , i obviously cant use the power pack etc to replace on my 1974 model , But can i swap the whole ignition system over , stator power pack flywheel and engine harness seems i have them there available. Also noted some of them parts are still in use today and easier to get hold off. TIA

I tested the powerpack , seems to be faulty , but the power pack i have for the 78 is different but all that was in good cond on the 78 model , so just wanted to think of ways to utilise what i have rather then spend more money ( i sound like a cheap skate here ) , i could see it working but wanted to see for sure really
