Evinrude 50 - Power trim issue

Hi.

I picked up a 14 ft fibreglass boat with Evinrude 50 (year 93) and trailer for a good price. The owner had no spark and had given up trying to fix it.
By the end of the day I had spark and the engine ran smooth, what a joy.
It has a power trim, which I have never had before. The power trim motor ran, but it seemed to have no fluid. Not a huge surprise given that when I got it, the lower screw was completely broken and the o-ring clipped.

I don't know why I even bothered, but I repeatedly filled it up with fluid and vented until it ran the ram both in and out, but of course oil spewed out the o-ring on the lower screw shortly after running the ram out. What I didn't anticipate was that the motor now couldn't be lifted high enough to manually lock it.
I had to manually lift, forcing it just a bit higher each time and lower repeatedly until all the fluid was drained before I could lift it high enough to lock it. Ironically I wanted to fix the power trim to save my back that blew out a couple weeks ago.

So, now I know that it leaks on the lower screw which is broken, I know that the manual relief valve is proper stuck and I know it leaks through the ram seal. I over several days sprayed the manual relief valve with penetrating spray, before repeatedly heating, freezing and spraying it. This worked a charm on the top screw, but I still broke most of the screw head on the manual relief valve. More than in the picture.

I have access to tools and a lift/truck at work.
As I see it my options are the following.

1. Get a reseal kit and new lower screw (if possible). Try my best to release the manual relief valve and remove the power trim from motor to service it.
2. Grind down the lower screw and fill with epoxy or JB Weld to seal it (not sure if the seal would be strong enough to withstand the hydraulic pressure)
3. Drain the fluid, disconnect the electronics and leave it be. Forget it exists. Lower and raise the motor by hand.

Any tips?
It would be really nice to have the power trim. I do however have a sneaky suspicion that option 1 could end up being a multiple day nightmare.

Should have mentioned that I have access to bolt extraction tools, and most other tools at work. Also a forklift and overhead crane.
