Well it has spark.. got a litt

Well it has spark.. got a little too close and it BIT me.. I know better than that!!. Can anyone tell me how to shift it into neutral? There is a two wire loom running down into the lower unit -think those wires shift it but not certain.
Also - if anyone knows the vintage - it would sure be appreciated.. Actually any facts would be of great help..

Look for a silver disk in the

Look for a silver disk in the block (like a freeze plug). It should have the model number on it ... probably the serial number too!

it should put it self into neautral when you crank it providing there is enough voltage,they have a built in fail safe , it automaticly goes into forward gear .needs to be connected to the remote box."

"Thanks everyone for the needed help.. Yea, I got that big prop off because it was making me nervous down by my shins.

What a place to stamp the numbers - on the freeze plug.. wow. I like learning everyday and I did learn something again today.. Can't beat that!

I did see that number stamped on there - never gave it a thought till now..
