Evinrude 4HP

I have an Evinrude 4HP - the model is E4BRCNR, could you tell me which year is my model, is it a 2 stroke and what oil i shoild use as i would like to replace the oil.

A 1982 model and it uses a 50:1 mix.-----Use outboard gear oil in the lower unit.

No----Use an oil for outboard motor to mix with the gas.-----Look for it with TCW III rating.-----Read a manual on small outboards before your first fishing trip.----Install a new water [ump impeller now.

Thanks Racerone. I found Supertech Oil in wallmart. It meets TC-W3 standards. Also can you confirm if I can used 80W-90 GL5 for lower unit gear oil. What is the procedure and do I need to by any oil bottle?

Go back to Walmart & buy a litre, (quart) of marine gear oil. While there, buy a little pump that screws into the bottom drain plug, ($10).
Google how to change gear oil on 4, 6 or 9.9hp motor. A YouTube video is way easier than typing the procedure.
