I have a 1984 40hp Model E40 E

I have a 1984 40hp Model E40 ELCR (VRO disabled). I mix gas 50:1. I have a rough slow idle and it will stall out and I have not top end power. How do I adjust the carbs or fix this problem?

Carbs not adjustable on that model.

Try new plugs.
Check sparks
Check compressions
Maybe a carb clean required. Does operating the primer help at all.

"Thx for the comments. Put in new plugs (set gap at .30). Spark advance is sat, compression sat. Sprayed carb cleaner in carbs while operating at fast idle, did not disassemble and put in solution. Maybe that is the problem. Did not operate primer during operation. Is this a sign of clogged jets? Do not have a manual, what is a good manual for this motor?"
