evinrude 33/28 Cut out switch/compression

I asked for help, but nobody replied. I hate to think nobody knows what I am asking. Does anybody know what the Vacuum reading is for the cut off safety switch.
Also what is the compression suppose to be on these 2 motors. 1968 33 and 1964 28HP?
Thanks much

if i understand the switch ,assmbly u r referring to,...i do not know the amount of vacuum req to make it function, however,it is a moderate amount....that switch assm,....wks like this---
if the eng is running fast or,there abouts,...and u quickly close the throttle, the switch is closed due to the high vacuum, therefore, killing one set of brkr points, via grounding. This allows it to slow the engine dn rapidly,...when it slows, and no longer has the excessive vacuum, switch opens allowing points to operate.....i cant rem off hand which set it is hooked to,..i am thinking to top or # 1 cyl...not sure tho....if need be,follow the blk wire.
compression, would be considered good if reasonably even,..and i would expect to see 80 up on those old engines,..or better.

Thanks JW, I am using the 33 cut off/safety switch on the 28. I was wondering if the Vacuum setting was the same. Logic would dictate that the 33 would pull a little bit more.
