Evinrude 25hp help power head

I have an Evinrude 1980 long shaft that has bad scored cylinder and I was wondering what other years have the same power head that would be compatible? One option is a 1990 short shaft, would the power head in that be compatible? Is it much to swap over to my outboard?

Only 1979 and 1980 cylinder and crankcase have the same part number.Pretty easy job to switch powerheads.

There are many others that will fit !!----But you have to switch out the exhaust tuner as well.----Research or a trusted mechanic is needed.----Check on the SPLINE in the crankshaft as well !
