" Joe, thanks for your earlier help on draining the fuel from my 1955 Evinrude. Now I am looking for guidelines on adjusting the needle valves. I returned the valve to the original setting when I drained the fuel, however I wanted to check both needle valves to make sure they are accurate. Is there a good starting point for these? My manual says adjustment guidelines are in bulletins, which I have none of. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. "

" One more note-when I pulled the needle valve out of the carbeurator, I cleaned lots of gunk from it. Now I think it was packing material, since there's a slow drip from the needle valve. Is there a similar part I can purchase at an auto parts store or something that could be used to replace this packing, or do I need to hunt down the correct stuff? Thanks. "
