Evinrude 20 hp year?

Hello. I have just bought a old 20 hp Evinrude. But I do not know how old it it. The engine do not have a identification plate. Can someone help me? Sorry if my English is bad. But I'm from Denmark

Looks like about an 83 hard to tell with the bad paint job. The model# might be on a silver disc on the power head in the head area.

Yes the engine is ugly because of the bad paint. There is som silver paint under the black paint on the motor cover. And a bit of lightblue/silver paint behind the gear handle.
I have found the location for the identity plate on the bracket were you mount the motor on the boat. But the plate is gone. Can the I'd number located somewhere other place on the motor?
