I have had this motor since new.I can put the motor in the lake and start it fine and go to fishing area and turn the engine off.This lake would be at 800m above sea level.If it is started after maybe 30 minutes or longer it will start ok but it cannot be throttled away in gear and will die after 2-3 seconds.The only way I can get it to get under way is to use the fast idle for a few minutes and then have another go.Under warranty dealer said floats were too low."

It is possible that the floats were low. Are you tilting the motor up after you stop. It sounds like the carbs are draining. What happens if you squeeze the primer bulb prior to attempting to restart? Was there any change after the dealer reset the floats?
 
I do not tilt motor.squeezing

I do not tilt motor.squeezing bulb makes no difference.no change after dealer supposed reset.sometimes when I go to neutral it will not idle.is it altitude sensitive and could the carbs be flooding since fast start will get me going and no probs once underway.Thank you for replying.
