hello,
first, I apologize for the english, because I'm french and tried to explain this the best i could...
the problem is on a 150 Evinrude V6 1995. I'ts a second hand just bought and excessive smoke, excessive consumption warm or cold. I've several engines like this one, so I can take spares on others (another 150 and 175 broken, pistons/sleeves)
just have to say that about the VRO question, the gas I use is premixed 2,5% with oil. and the mixture from the tank is entering in gas and oil entry of the VRO (so, no alarm)
I first changed VRO/choke/vapor separator plate, there was little leaks apparently and I thought about a problem with the choke system staying opened.
I took it from a 175 witch was running well before a problem with 1 connecting rod broken which damaged sleeve/piston/etc.. so this kit seems to be reliable. but still smoking, still consuming about 1,5x what this boat is usually consuming with the previous 175hp
then I changed the carbs coming from another 150V6, nothing changes.
after stopping the engine, some white smoke of unburnt gas is going out from the lower carbs, cyl. 5 and 6 . while removing the cabs, some gas is dropping from the surface between the carbs and the intake manifold. it looks like the chambers are filled with gas...
some white smoke is even going out sometimes from the upper tube going into the air silencer.
I'm about out of ideas... is somebody having some ??
