Evinrude 150 two stroke just quits

I have an Evinrude 150 two stroke that will run fine when started, run at any speed as long as you want but drop back to idle and it will sputter and quit
This is what I have done

All new gas
complete overhaul of all six carbs
I had a outboard shop run all the tests on the ignition system, all OK
overhaul of fuel pump
blocked oil VRO and put oil into the gas
I have tried squeezing the bulb has no effect, bulb is hard.
This is the exact problem I had when I started and I have gained nothing from the changes I made.
I checked the gas line from the tank to the engine, good gas flow
After it sputters and dies, it will not restart and idle, but if I can get it to just sputter a second I can speed up the engine and we can
get home with no problems, runs great, until you try to idle and get on the trailer....lots of fun...
What am I missing??

So it starts fine cold, will run fine, then has running issues coming back to idle after the engine is at full operating temperature?
What year of 150HP is this? Can you please post the model #?
I would look at the electrical issues. You may have a stator, power pack, or charge coil going bad. Sometimes when cold they operate fine but fail when hot. You might also have a timing base sticking when hot. It's possible the timing is staying advanced after WOT operation and causing the poor low speed running.

Finally check engine temps. You might be running too hot (bad water pump, stuck thermostat) and you're experiencing a hot seizure in your cylinders.

It is a 1994 150GLERA
I may have found more this morning..Engine ran fine at 1500 for about 20 minutes...fished a little ( no fish ) started it up and ran 1000 RPM back close to the ramp again no real
problem.. Ran it for five minutes at 3000 RPM and pulled into the dock, and left it idling and it started missing every 5 seconds or so. I shut it off put my trailer in the water
and tried to start the engine..no fire at all..not a peep had to use the trolling motor to get back on the trailer....It appears to be an ignition problem so I ordered a new power pack
but the stator is no longer available?? well I will try the pack first and see ihat works
Thanks

Before you go replacing parts trying to find the problem I would suggest you research the OIS 2000 system first and learn the trouble shooting tree. I'm no expert on this system so I'll defer to other members that are much more knowledgeable.

The stator is still available, just not the original part # because it was replaced by an updated number. There are stators offered by BRP, Sierra, and CDI electronics in the Marinengine parts store. I've ordered many parts from this site and have been very pleased.

For some reason I can't post links on the site. Do an internet search for 'Maxrules.com OMC 60 degree V6 Optical Ignition Tips'. This guy has a nice rundown explaining the OIS system along with various problems, testing information, and repair suggestions. This information should help you pinpoint the problem before you spend money on parts you can't return.
