"Hello.

I have a question.

"Hello.

I have a question. I'm buying a 20 feet aluminum jon boat. I was looking to buy an Evinrude 75 HP outboard for it, but the dealer offered me a demo 150 HO with 28 running hours with the full 3 year garantee for only $1500 more then a new 75HP. It is way more horsepower then I would need, but i seems like a good deal although i'm a bit unsure of the 150hp purchase.

Would this be a good investment alhtough i do not need the horsepower?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Hans"

"i would say,..that is too muc

"i would say,..that is too much HP for a 20 footer,ALUM...what is this boat rated for?...altho,it depends on the boat."

"Well that is a lot of horsepo

"Well that is a lot of horsepower. Several ways to look at this. The 75 HP perks: Better fuel economy, less weight. 150 hp perks: Can go faster, more weight. I agree with jwb maybe too much motor for that boat."

And also are you buying the 75

And also are you buying the 75 hp new or used? If new then you don't have someone else's problems if there were any with the 150 hp.

"Thanks for your responses.

"Thanks for your responses.

There are several boats of this types with 150-225HP motors on it so i assume the dealer that should not be a problem.

The 75HP is brand new model 2009. The 150 HO a 2008 model with 28 hours on it, but it will have the full 3 years warantee.
James Jones: The dealer is in Holland, so i guess that would not be an option for you
Sorry for this."
