Evinrude 140 Throttle Cable - QUICK QUESTION

1979 Evinrude 140. I have to hold the throttle control at planing rpm. If I don't hold the throttle the rpms will slowly decrease. Which way do I need to adjust the throttle cable? Loosen or tighten?

There may be a friction adjustment on the control box.-------Generally you tighten that to keep lever from moving.
