last month my etec 115 would not engage reverse, started getting noisy and clunking but finally it would not engage, I found if the reverse lever was pushed it engaged so adjusted it fully to get reverse working for the last of summer.
started taking the leg off and drained the oil, the oil was dirty, some dust metal in the screw but no bits, oil was dark but not full if the expected slithers of metal, so I plan removing the leg, have the six bolts out but too dark to finish.
my dealer figures the gears are gone but with no metal in the oil Im thinking not.
any ideas what else it could be? forward is fine reverse does work but not 100% engaged, and the lever is now at full adjustment
any help would be appreciated
