I have a 1990ish Evinrude 115 labelled outboard that has the heavy duty commercial V-6 lower unit on it and of course the sticker for the model and serial is gone, I have not been able to locate any numbers on it after cleaning. The welch plug on the block does not have the model on it like some do but does have a serial number of R8563004 stamped on it. The engine has been repainted at some point which hinders the ability to go by paint to help ID it. This is a bubble back exhaust crossflow engine that looks like any other V-4 from the same time frame.
Here's a bunch of photos of it. Want to know what it is before I tear it down to freshen up, mostly needing paint and cleanup. Haven't decided whether to rip it down and re-ring it with a honing of the cylinders as compression dry is around 100 in all 4.
