European motor cross reference

1997 Yamaha C30

New member
I have a 1997 Yamaha 25 hp motor with the engine code 25 vmh which is the European version of the American C30er. Im looking at buying another European motor that’s a 2002 with engine code 61N-B0 model 3. The engine is an exact copy of the engine I have down to the slightest detail and I think the parts are interchangeable, but I don’t know how to reference European codes. Any thoughts on where I can find this information.

A model 25VMH is the equivalent of a US model C25.

A model 25VMH has a prefix of 61R. The 61R being the first few characters of what Yamaha calls the PID. Primary Engine ID.

61N is the prefix for a Yamaha model E25A or E25AMH.

If you can get the complete engine id for the European 2002 motor I might be able to get you to the US equivalent.

My motor on the left and the parts motor I want to buy on the right. The last photo is from my manual for the motor on the left.

Need the tag for the "to be purchased" motor that is like the tag shown in the first photo for the motor that you own.

Sorry for delay. I was wondering where you guys get this information from. I’ve tried a lot of internet searching and the outside the US information is hard to find.

If I disclosed my sources I would have to kill you.

Looks to be a 2004 model year motor. Model 25BMH. M for manual start. H for tiller handle.

61RK prefix. Not 61N. S for short shaft. 1001765 is the serial number.

Equivalent of a US model 25MSHC. M for manual start. S for short shaft. H for tiller handle. C for 2004.
