"After looking at lots of engines recently, I finally bought a used (about 10 hr) 2007 Etec 40 tiller for my boat. The local dealer mounted the engine this week and now I am thinking about instrumentation...Tach, system check gage, speedo, etc.
The local dealers aren't familiar with outfitting tillers with instruments (seems odd to me that this is a new one for them) and say they will have to look into it. The Evinrude catalogs mention a harness is available for the tiller motors. The brp website shows lots of harnesses, but gives no application assistance.
Do any of the ETEC guru's know which gages/harnesses are required?
I think the harness is really my hangup here since I'd assume most non-Icommand gages would be compatible.
Also, do these engines have built in pitots for a speedo?
