Was servicing my working 15hp (mid 90s) outboard. I had a water leak on the thermast housing which is located directly above the spark plugs. Due to the leak, the spark plugs were extremely rusty and required some major work to get out. During that process, a ground wire on what I believe is the power pack (located to the right of the spark plugs and has many wires coming out). Tried starting the engine and didn't run. Put the wire back on the grounded location and started right up. Given how short the wire was, I decided to add some length to it and just ground it to the negative on the starter wires negative post. The engine started right up. Turned it off again by using the kill switch, and it didn't start after. Now, I have no spark. Made sure that the it was still grounded and still, no spark.
