Envenrude 225hp 1998 carburator

Just put a second hand evenrud

Just put a second hand evenrude 225 hp 1998 on our boat.

When we take off the carburator tap it has full power. When putting it back on it has not the same power whten giving gas.

Any suggestions?

It sounds like you either have

It sounds like you either have an air restriction in the intake baffle or an exhaust leak somewhere which is depriving the motor of oxygen.
