Eninrude 1979 model 35hp need serious help

I have a 1979 model 35hp envi

I have a 1979 model 35hp envinrude that just keeps blowing up power packs ive done went through three i cant figure out the problem ive changed coils and the stater plate and it still does it. Pleas if anyone has any idea please help me. It will run good for a little while with a new power pack but then it just blow it. For no apparent reason

Something is wrong and it may

Something is wrong and it may be an intermittant fault in the key switch or wiring harness. The switch shorts to ground to stop the motor. So if that is the fault in the wiring the spark fails and it may not be the fault of the pack. Those packs are very good and can last the life of the motor.
