Engine won't crack after run above water for few seconds

I have a Yamaha 150hp 2-stroke on a 20ft center console, probably 10 years old. Running full speed and the outboard was unintentionally lift out of the water (my daughter was not realizing the finger was on the button lifting it up), the boat stop moving so we right away realized and put it back down in the water but it had shut off itself. All it is about 5 seconds. A little smoke come out, not a lot. Then the engine won't start, just click once when turn the key, engine won't turn at all. What could be the problem or damage?
