I have a mercurry 125hp 1997, engine will shutdown at idle and excessive fuel is comming out of the carb, and engine is not steady if it starts it vibrates .

please help."
 
"Fuel coming out of the throat

"Fuel coming out of the throat of the carb is usually caused by one of two things.

A stuck float valve will cause it to flood, run like crap or stall and make restarting difficult to impossible - cure for that, disassemble and clean the carb(s) giving you the trouble.

The second cause can be broken/chipped reeds - in that case the fuel is "blown" back through the carb - the symptoms are much the same as a stuck float (poor idle etc)....."

"Absolutely agree with Chris - without the motor running you can remove the hood and pump the bulb on the fuel line.

If gas starts coming out of one (or more) of the carbs, that would indicate a stuck float...."

Thanks every body you were all right it was because of carb float faulty.
