Engine will not start

I have a 94 Volvo 5.0 Gas Inbo

I have a 94 Volvo 5.0 Gas Inboard 400 hours. It starts fine. Had a tune up 2 years ago. I drive for a extended time 15 min to an hour. Turn off the engine it will not fire will not even click. Battery is good fuses are not blown. Wait 30 min to an hour and it starts up. It does not do this all time thus a mechanic has a hard time with the problem. Any idea what the problem could be.

"I had trouble with mine a while back not starting intermittenly, turns out someone added an inline fuse before the starter and it would work itself loose, then just as mysteriously it would contact again. Drove me crazy till I finally figured it out.

I guess I would try to see if you are getting power to the starter when you turn the key."

"If your engine is a GM, I would look at the two usual suspects: 1) starting relay with internal or terminal corrosion (easy & cheap to replace); and 2) safety neutral switch in the control box (easy to troubleshoot)."
