Need some suggestions on this problem, I have a 60hp 1995 evinrude and I am having trouble with it not being able to go past 1/2 throttle without bogging down or just shutting off. I have cleaned out the carbs, new power pack, new primer solenoid, new fuel line, compression test was good, water pump is shooting water out the side, and running non-ethenol gas through it. It will start up fine, idle great, but when under load and pushing over half throttle, it sounds like it's drowning for the need of more power. Funny thing is, is that when I engage full throttle and I turn the red dial on the primor solenoid to the manuel choke setting, it will run top speed like a scalded dog. Then when I turn the red dial back to the position of where it's supposed to be for the automatic choke, it Boggs down and dies. When this particular occurance happens, it's damn near impossible to start again. Does this sound like a carb problem or something more serious? By the way, the engine sat for over a year and had ran ethanol gas prior to me putting back in the garage. This started happening when I first put it in the water after the engine sat for awhile. Don't know if that makes any difference. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
