I have just gone to change the engine louvre vents on the outside of my 19' Ragazza and I noticed that one faces back and the other forward! Is this right? Surely the one with the vents open forward will allow water in rough sea? Any one know if this is correct please?

"NO, correct. This to ensure a cross ventilation of the engine room at all times, even when boat is moored!!!!
Proper vent boxes mounted facing forward, should have the connection of hoses on top. Due to gravity, water will not enter the engine room. Facing backwards, the hose connection will be at the bottom.
The very worst place You may have the vents are at the transom. Engine will suck in all the spray (from drive = vacum behind), straight on top of the distributor (GM)."
